🇮🇹 Export Markets
Italy
Italy has deep culinary traditions for fava beans, chickpeas and lentils — creating consistent B2B demand from Italian pasta makers, food manufacturers and wholesale distributors.
Why Italy Buys Egyptian Pulses
Italy has one of the strongest legume cultures in Europe. Chickpeas (ceci), fava beans, lentils, white beans (cannellini) and lupin are embedded in Italian cuisine — from pasta e ceci to ribollita to traditional fave e cicoria in the south. This creates steady industrial demand from Italian canning factories, pasta manufacturers and wholesale food distributors that source in full container loads.
Italian fennel seeds: a key spice market
Italy is one of the world's largest consumers of fennel seeds, primarily for the production of Italian pork sausages (finocchiona, salsiccia) and traditional bread. Egyptian fennel — with its high essential oil content (3.5–5.5%) and strong aroma — is well suited to this application. Admiral Agro supplies Egyptian fennel seeds in 25 and 50 kg bags, FOB Damietta.
What Italian buyers look for
Italian food manufacturers and importers require EU MRL compliance under Regulation (EC) 396/2005, Certificate of Analysis, Phytosanitary Certificate and Certificate of Origin. For canned legume production, specific caliber and broken-seed tolerances are critical. Buyers sourcing organic product should specify their certification scheme (EU Organic / BIO) in their RFQ.
