Europe is one of the largest and most consistently growing markets for imported pulses, seeds and legumes. Structural demand comes from food manufacturers incorporating plant-based protein into processed foods, retail chains expanding health-food and organic ranges, and large ethnic food communities (Turkish, Arab, South Asian) with daily consumption of chickpeas, lentils, fava beans and sesame.

EU import regulations apply across all member states. Egyptian pulses must comply with EU pesticide MRL limits under Regulation (EC) 396/2005, and shipments must include a Phytosanitary Certificate, Certificate of Analysis and GOEIC Certificate of Origin. Halal certification is available for products entering the Muslim food retail channel. Pre-loading SGS or Intertek inspection can be arranged.

Yes. Egyptian export-grade pulses are cleaned and processed to meet EU MRL requirements under Regulation (EC) 396/2005. A Certificate of Analysis from an accredited laboratory is available per shipment. Pre-loading SGS or Intertek analytical testing can be arranged on request.
