Egypt is one of the most established origins for fava (faba / broad) beans, supported by the Nile Delta's fertile soil and a long growing season. For importers, the process from first enquiry to delivered container follows six clear steps.

Step 1 — Define your specification

Before requesting prices, decide what you actually need. For fava beans the key parameters are size (small, medium or large), moisture, purity, foreign matter and broken/damaged tolerance, plus whether you need whole or split beans. Typical export norms are moisture ≤13–14%, purity ≥98–99% and foreign matter ≤0.5%, confirmed per shipment in the Certificate of Analysis.

Step 2 — Send a complete RFQ

A good request for quotation (RFQ) lets a supplier price accurately the first time. Include: product and size, quantity in metric tons or number of containers, destination port, preferred Incoterm (FOB, CFR or CIF), packing (25 or 50 kg bags or private label), and any document or inspection requirements.

Step 3 — Approve a sample

For a first order, request a representative sample or clear photos and the current typical specification. Approving quality up front avoids disputes later and sets the quality benchmark for the shipment.

Step 4 — Agree the contract and Incoterms

Confirm price, Incoterm, packing, loading port and shipment window in a proforma invoice. Admiral Agro loads FOB through Damietta, Alexandria or Ain Sokhna, or quotes CFR/CIF to your destination port.

Step 5 — Inspection and documents

Standard export documents include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, Certificate of Origin and Phytosanitary Certificate, with Certificate of Analysis and Halal certificate on request. Third-party inspection (for example SGS or Intertek) can be arranged on request. See our document checklist guide for details.

Step 6 — Shipping and delivery

Once loaded, you receive the shipping documents to clear the goods at destination. Mediterranean ports (Damietta, Alexandria) suit Europe and North Africa; Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea suits the Gulf, East Africa and Asia.

📦 Minimum order is typically one 20ft container; packing is usually 25 or 50 kg PP bags, or private label for eligible orders.
